My name is Andrew Ollerenshaw and ProAction Training Ltd was born from my passion for helping other people grow, develop, think and achieve.
At 50 years, old I have acquired an extensive range of skills and knowledge that has been gained in real-life commercial situations with continued success. I now want to pass on this awareness and understanding to others to help them achieve their goals and their dreams.
At the age of 22 I was running my own Sales Team at National Computer Supplies. I then moved to Waddington’s to launch a telesales team, which included the recruitment, the product training and the sales and customer service training. From here I was head hunted by Universal Office Supplies and promoted to Branch Manager within a year. I had full P&L responsibility including Sales, Customer Service and logistics. The Branch achieved a record profit that year.
Moving on to Pactiv, a global packaging manufacturer I became UK Sales Manager where my main role was coaching and training our distributers sales teams and customer services on product and service.
I found at this point that I actually enjoyed training and coaching people so when the opportunity came up to join the Post Office as a BDM I jumped at the opportunity. The Post Office was going through a major change at the time, moving from selling stamps and saving bonds to travel insurance, currency, credit cards, home phone and many other products and services that your normal Post Office customer could not imagine. This was a complete culture change for the teams working in the branches and my job was to change them from counter clerks to professional sale people who could sell to the public using the art of conversational selling and customer service. My Branches and I won various awards for their high performance level which was recognised at the topmost level in the business.
After the Post Office I needed a new challenge so I put all my skills and abilities to the test and started my own small but successful Pet Caring Business. Animals and humans are a fearsome combination, animals are more often than not an extension of your family and treated as that so handing them over to a total stranger to look after takes a lot of trust. The business grew and thrived during a recession with a lot of competition, and I truly believe it was down to the customer service and the relationships that I built because of the knowledge and skills I had gained throughout my career.
Aligned with my skills I have the services of my wife Kim who comes from the opposite end of the spectrum her background being in Manufacturing Purchasing, Sourcing and Supply so together we have the perfect combination. Kim is the check point so she really knows what works when it comes to Customer Service, Sales and Negotiation.
I have the honorary title of being “local” as I have lived and worked in the North East for 15 years.
The business is aimed at the local economy and local businesses in the North East, training and coaching in Customer Service, Sales, Presentation and Team Leadership skills. We are located just outside of Morpeth so we don’t have massive head office overheads which allows us to put a pricing structure in place that makes training affordable. We are a small family run business with a flexible and adaptable approach that enables us to suit our customer’s needs and most importantly we coach and train through experience and experiences because we have been there...
